Important Notice:

Please note that while our practice offers bulk billing for eligible patients, not all doctors bulk bill all eligible patients. Bulk billing is at the individual GP’s discretion, and fees may apply even if you hold a concession card. We recommend confirming billing arrangements when you make your appointment.

We Bulk Bill:

All children under 16 years (i.e. 15 years and younger) of age as they are eligible for the bulk billing incentive*
Patients aged between 16 and 21 years of age (inclusive) who are students and not in full time employment and who are registered with us in MyMedicare. (Please see our MyMedicare page for more details).
Centrelink HealthCare Concession Card
Pensioner Concession Card or Commonwealth Seniors Health Care Card
Veterans with a Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) white or gold card

All patients 70 years of age and over who are registered with us in MyMedicare.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients*
Chronic disease care plans, mental health care plans and health assessments
Annual Heart Health Checks**
For our MyMedicare registered patients, routine repeat prescriptions and ongoing referrals that do not require a full consultation will be bulk billed.
Mandatory driver’s license medicals for private grade driver licenses are bulk billed.

All other patients incur a private fee

with Medicare Rebate for Medicare Related services
Please note that we are happy to consider our fees for our regular patients who are under financial stress – please don’t hesitate to discuss this with your GP. All other patients incur a private fee.

Appointment Cancellation & Missed Visit Policy

To ensure we can provide timely care to all patients, we kindly ask that any appointment changes or cancellations be made at least 4 hours prior to your scheduled time. This allows us to offer the appointment to another patient who may be waiting for care.

Appointments that are missed or cancelled with less than 4 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee. A standard 15-minute appointment will attract a fee of $45, and a double appointment will incur a fee of $85. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us manage our schedule efficiently and fairly for all patients.

We are Mixed Billing Practice

The following Patients and visits are bulk billed:

Pension card holders and Health Care Card Holders
Children under 16 years old.
DVA Gold Card holders
Patients attending for Vaccinations.
Patients attending for preventative health care services related to chronic conditions. E.g., Care Plans and Health Assessments.

In addition, we Bulk Bill the following services:

Health Assessments
Care plans and Review
Mental Health Care plan and Review

The rest of the services unfortunately, we are not able to bulk bill.

The Australian Governments over the years have not been investing in primary care services enough to keep up with the rising healthcare costs and helping to provide high quality medical services.In 38 years the Medicare Rebate has not increased in line with rises in CPI and AWE.

Florence St Family practice is a privately owned General Practice established over 25 years ago. Our premises in Hornsby is purpose-built and offers high quality, comprehensive and holistic family medicine supported by a keen set of experienced doctors, nurses and admin staff that are always committed to genuine care. We are fully computerised and well equipped with daily nursing support, onsite pathology, neighboring radiology and allied health support.

We are able to routinely bulk bill pensioners, concession and healthcare card holders and Children 16 and under. We offer some discounted services to students also at the discretion of the doctor. Charging gap fees where applicable allows us to provide the time and care you deserve. Medicare rebates alone no longer cover the true costs of delivering high-quality medical care.
